WHEN SHOULD YOU HAVE YOUR BUMP PHOTO SHOOT?
General recommendations — between 25-32 weeks (in
your 7th or 8th month of pregnancy).
If you are expecting twins or
multiples — between 20-27 weeks.
If the belly is rounding
slowly — between 27-32 weeks.
After 33 weeks, the likelihood of swelling is very high,
plus everything the expectant mother gets tired faster and it becomes more
difficult to move.
Maximum — up to 38 weeks.
My opinion — the sooner, the better. When the model is still full of strength and easily takes any planned poses, when your belly is nice and round, and are still feeling comfortable.
During
this time, you will have a fairly visible bump and your baby will not have
dropped down too far yet.
The
start of your third trimester is the perfect time for a maternity photoshoot. If you decide to schedule your photos sooner, just consider the size of your
belly and if you are happy with it’s roundness.
On the other hand, if it’s a last minute decision which is close to your due
date and you don’t want to miss out on capturing beautiful maternity portraits, then go for it!
Many mums-to-be have a petite bump and can look only about six
months pregnant even close to the end of their pregnancy.
Lastly, be mindful that babies sometimes can make an unexpected early arrival.
HOW ADVANCE DO I NEED TO BOOK FOR A SHOOT?
You need to make an appointment
for pregnancy photography in advance, at 20-24 weeks.
Thanks to this you can choose a convenient date for you, the photographer, the makeup artist and choose a convenient time in the studio, and not choose from what is left.
